The Gluten Free Taster

Gluten Free Treats, Tips and Travel

New York, New York

Happy Monday! My husband and I recently went to New York City (my first time) for an early birthday trip and of course, I needed to find all the gluten-free hot spots.

Here are my tips for a great trip and a few must visit gluten-free places in the Big City!

Since it was super cold for this southern belle, I started every morning with hot chocolate from a different local coffee shop. One morning my husband and I set out to find the first Shake Shack in Madison Square Garden and tried their new breakfast. I ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on a new gluten-free breakfast bun. Let me tell you…this was one of the BEST breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. I absolutely can’t wait until breakfast becomes nationwide at all of their locations. Definitely, a must have in NYC for any gluten-free visitor.

I have a hugeeee sweet tooth, so a delicious dessert is a must find whenever we’re traveling. Some of my greatest finds include edible, gluten-free cookie dough at DŌ. I tried the peanut butter snickerdoodle but ended up getting the signature chocolate chip. I absolutely loved it and was not leaving NYC until I ate a cup.

One of my other must-have finds was T-swirl Crêpe. My husband and I accidentally stumbled upon this location and I was so excited I almost started crying. I hadn’t had a crepe in a yearsss and new these were doing to be delicious. I had high expectations and they did not disappoint. All of their crepes are made from rice flour, which naturally makes them gluten-free. I ordered the strawberry and Nutella crepe, but they had SO many options. They have a couple locations in Manhatten, and more nationwide.

We had a great trip to New York, but we can’t wait to go back! I’d love to hear your favorite gluten-free, New York City hotspots for our next trip 🙂
